Graeme Shaw, better known as Uncle G, is an Americana singer/songwriter hailing from the rustic landscapes of rural southern Ontario, Canada. Growing up in a small town instilled in him an appreciation for the simplicity and complexities of life, themes that resonate in his music. His sound is woven from his experiences, reflecting the impact of personal relationships and the charm of his hometown.
After spending several years in the picturesque Tobermory, Ontario, the beauty and serene environment further inspired his songwriting. His music captures the essence of the people and places that have shaped his journey, using evocative imagery and heartfelt storytelling.
Graeme's debut album, "Where I'm From," is a testament to his diverse musical influences. The debut album from Uncle G, titled Where I'm From, emerged in the waning days of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this period of isolation, Graeme Shaw (Uncle G) had the rare opportunity to explore his musical voice and refine his sound in isolation. Separated from his hometown and loved ones in rural Ontario while living in Tobermory, Uncle G found himself reflecting deeply on the people who had shaped his life. The arrival of his nephew during the pandemic added a layer to this introspection. Ending many video calls with his nephew with the phrase "See You Soon," Uncle G’s emotions are encapsulated in the album's opening track, which is a tribute to his nephew Malcolm and marks Shaw's debut as 'Uncle G.'
